Nagpur: An Air Arabia flight from Sharjah landed safely in the early hours of Friday at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur, bringing a sense of normalcy amid disruptions due to the Middle East conflict. The flight arrived at 4.20am and the same aircraft departed for Sharjah at 5.28am.
According to information from the airport administration, the Sharjah-Nagpur-Sharjah service was supposed to operate as a temporary measure for only two days. The next scheduled flight is on Sunday, April 5. Air Arabia has issued advisories from time to time, and a formal announcement regarding permanent restoration of the service is awaited, said officials.
The other international flight, Doha-Nagpur-Doha by Qatar Airways, still remains suspended. The airport administration said there is no official information from the airline regarding resumption of this service.
Many citizens were stranded in Gulf countries or had their travel plans disrupted due to the conflict. Resumption of the Sharjah flight has brought some relief but passengers should pay attention to official advisories before planning air travel, said officials.
